Auditec Spondees, NU-6 Word Recognition Test

A phonetically balanced word recognition test that employs CNC words. There are four lists of 50 words each. These lists have been recorded in four randomizations called “forms”. The talker has a General American dialect. The articulation function is approximately 4% /dB. Spondees: these are two-syllable words with equal stress on each syllable, which are employed to obtain thresholds for speech. There are two randomizations of 36 spondaic words spoken without a carrier phrase. The median speech reception threshold (SRT) for normal listeners is 20 dB SPL.
